World Sparrow Day – 20 March

Most of us have our fond memories of the sparrow in our childhood. We remember the sound of sparrow in the morning. Many of us must have seen its nest mostly on cupboards in our houses. But that familiar sound has become rare nowadays and hence the need to celebrate world sparrow day.

World Sparrow Day is celebrated since 2010. The decline of the sparrow population is an indicator of the continuous degradation the environment around us is facing. The increase in microwave pollution has adversely affected the population of sparrow. This has posed danger to the balance of ecosystem.

The sparrow is the ambassador of all birds. Its conservation will help save many other biodiversity. The theme of world sparrow day this year is I Love Sparrows.

Valentine’s Day

Valentine’s Day is celebrated on 14th February. It is the day to celebrate love. Before this day, different days like Chocolate Day, Hug Day etc. Are celebrated celebrated before a week. It is popular among youngsters. Many couples propose each other on this day to make their relationship special.

Why is this day so much popular nowadays? It is because love is the feeling that makes life worth living. Any amount of bank balance will not help you get true love. A feeling of being loved releases hormone from our brain that makes us feel good.

Not only between couples, love is also between a mother and child, with your neighbour or with your friend. Preparing a favourite dish of your loved ones is also an expression of love rather than giving gifts. Travelling together, chatting also brings one another closer.

Feelings can be shown by expressing them. So express your feelings. Not only on this Day, but throughout the year. Make your loved ones feel special.Happy Valentine’s Day!

30th January- Martyr’s DAY

India observes Martyr’s  DAY  on January  30 every year. The day is chosen to honour our brave Martyr’s who laid their lives for the country.
On January  30, 1948, the Father of the Nation- Mahatma Gandhi was murdered by Nathuram Godse in the Birla House during his evening prayers. This incident moved the entire nation.  Mahatma Gandhi played a prominent  role  in our freedom struggle through non-violent  and peaceful methods. Thousands of people and several leaders  supported him and followed his footsteps.  He led the non-violent  tax revolt in Kheda, the non- cooperation  movement  in  1920s and the Dandi March in 1930.
So every year, on the Day Bapu breathed his last, the Nation celebrates Martyr’s DAY. The President, Vice-president, Prime Minister and Defence Minister gather at Rajghat to pay tribute to Mahatma Gandhi.
Students  in schools and colleges  perform plays in memory of the brave fighters. Patriotic songs are played to keep alive the spirit of courage, bravery and love for the Nation.
